Great July Event! On to Camping in August!

You guys rock! The July speaker meeting and dance was a success. We are growing – we had over 100 people at the meeting and more then 430 years of sobriety! There was great fellowship and the best dance in a long time. We carried the message, making this event a success. Thanks to Truck and the whole contingent from SACYPAA. We are still learning…we spent a little more than we should have on this event. As we all know, we have to be self-supporting to thrive. I am confident that our group will learn from this event and budget better in the future. That will make us stronger in the long run.

We are starting to gear up for an ACYPAA bid. Chris L. will be holding a bid committee meeting in September. We will start meeting with hotels to prepare a bid package. There is much to do, it is time to start doing it – one small task at a time.

The next event is camping at Fawn Group camp at Trinity Lake August 22-24. Registration is $15. That includes dinner on Saturday that will be put on by CHICYPAA. It will be great to get to know our friends from Chico better. I’ve been to their Friday night YP meeting and really enjoyed it. The camping trip is limited to 100 people, so get your registration in early. If you are in Redding, give your registration to John or Connie. Registration needs to be in the mail by August 16th.

More info on the camp site is here http://www.campersonline.com/fawn.html.

Thank you for the opportunity to be of service.

Hi, I'm the person who is putting on the Rough-Out at Fawn on 8/29 through 9/1/08. I just wondered if we could talk about not planning 2 AA functions a week apart at the same campground. I think it would help support both our events if they were further apart. We can't change it this year, but maybe in the future this could be a plan. You can reach me at: lady_di_realty@yahoo.om

Thanks for your concern Diane as unity is our primary goal. Keep in mind Chicypaa (Chico Young people)and Redypaa (Redding young people) are not affiliated with Alcoholics anonymous. So technically it is not considered an "AA function". The pull for this event is a little bit different than a typical event our members of AA put on. This particular crowd will consist primarily of teenagers, and 20 year olds, YIKES! but we welcome all young people, young people being defined as "anyone willing to grow!" These crazy kids will be coming from all over California as far down as San Diego. If you goto http://community.acypaa.org/?q=home
you can read all about it. Considering the limited availability for this particular campsite of 100 registered campers its a good thing we have two dates!
